London Hire donate accessible vehicle
A Nottinghamshire based support group is extremely grateful after London Hire donated a wheelchair accessible vehicle to transport a group of carers on a well-earned break in the Wye Valley.
Rushcliffe Mental Health Carers Group got in contact with London Hire earlier in the year after their planned trip look in jeopardy after their original transport option fell through.
“Thanks to the generosity of London Hire we were able to facilitate a well needed break to the Wye Valley for a group of carers of loved ones with long term mental health issues “ explained Shirley Jeffs, founder member of the support group who also attended the break. “ Without the support of London Hire this may not have been able to go ahead due to limited incomes and the need to make the trip affordable for all. “
The break was a great success and as planned the carers were able to have some time to themselves with the full support when they needed it from Shirley and her team. Shirley added that one carer told her that it was the first time she had felt relaxed for many years and had actually been able to sleep at night, another said she could not remember the last time she had laughed and enjoyed herself.
Shirley added “ It was a tearful end to the break as the carers said goodbye but at least for this short time they were tears of joy and gratitude. Thank you London Hire for making this happen.”
